Sixth Asonahores Tourism Investment Forum: Promoting the Development of Tourism in the Republic

During the forum, the work of companies and allies in the tourism sector that have contributed significantly to strengthening the local tourism industry will be recognized.

Santo Domingo, February 1, 2024 – The Hotel and Tourism Association of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores) is preparing for the exciting sixth Tourism Investment Forum, scheduled for next November 20. This key event will take place at the prestigious El Embajador Royal Hideaway Hotel, starting at 9:00 in the morning.

David Llibre, president of Asonahores, highlighted the importance of this forum as a platform for the exchange of ideas between the public and private sectors, with the aim of promoting the development of the tourism industry in the country. Llibre emphasized that the event seeks to promote investment opportunities both locally and internationally, demonstrating the dynamism and growth potential of the Dominican tourism sector.

The central point of the forum will be the presentation of the study "Impact of the Tourism Sector on the Dominican Economy", carried out by the firm Analytica and sponsored by Banco Popular. This study will provide an updated and detailed view of the contribution of tourism to the national economy.

In addition, discussion panels will be held on key topics, such as tourism investment regulations, with the participation of prominent experts such as Alejandro Fernández, Superintendent of Banks, and Ernesto Bournigal, Superintendent of Securities Markets, among others.

Another prominent panel will address the “New Proposals in Luxury Tourism”, with the participation of industry leaders such as Encarna Piñero, CEO of the Piñero Group – Cayo Levantado Resort, and Frank Elías Rainieri, president & CEO of the Punta Cana Group – Proyectos Miches , among others. These panels will be moderated by experts such as Javier Tejada, General Director of United Capital, and Andrés Marranzini Grullón.
